Tell me the truth now…Wouldn’t it be nice if one day you got an email that said a long lost relative who had passed away had named you as their only heir, and you inherited millions of dollars? (If that happens, by the way….let me know.) A secret inheritance – one completely unexpected – that would be wonderful, wouldn’t it?
God tells us of a secret inheritance that he has for us, one that is often overlooked in our busy individualistic lives. The secret inheritance is so immense that God calls it rich and glorious. He doesn’t want us to miss it – he wants us to take hold of it – so Paul says, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know…the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people…”
This secret inheritance, which we can only possess, if we walk in community with other followers of Jesus. It’s in the actual relationships with other Christ followers where the treasure is found.
At CrossBridge, helping people take hold of the secret inheritance is one of our main priorities. We do it through life groups – small groups of people that function like real churches, as they love one another, and love the world.
This Sunday, after the services, we are going to give everyone the opportunity to investigate a life group that’s near where they live. It’s a chance for you to take possession of the secret inheritance that God has for you.
