This Sunday evening we’re hosting Navigate—a fun, but strategic training event for our whole church from 5:30-7:30 p.m. We’ll break into groups based upon our life stage and attend a short equipping forum that’s especially designed for where we are. The goal is to better equip us to be disciple makers in our particular season of life. We’ll also have a bunch of ice cream and free childcare. If you’ve got kids, think of this as a strategic date! We’ll take of the kids and you’ll become more effective parents. Registration and childcare is free, but please do register so we know how much ice cream to make. God makes a startling promise in Isaiah 54. He says, “All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.” Isn’t this exactly what you hope of your children (little ones as well as grown children)? Imagine their peace if Jesus were the one who spoke to them in their spirit and taught them. This isn’t wishful thinking, this is his promise to all who trust in him. He wants to do this through you!
Events like Navigate are key opportunities for training for all adults in our church, but I think it’s an especially important occasion for parents with children to get better equipped for directing their children in Lord. I wish we’d had events like this when my girls were young! So…skip the pool this Sunday…turn off the TV…put down the screen…and come eat ice cream and become a better disciple maker. Register for free here so we know how much ice cream to make.
