Pastors are notorious for trying to measure the health of the church they lead using numbers….attendance…giving…square footage. (True confession: I’ve certainly fallen into this more than once myself.) Numbers aren’t bad-not even the ones I just mentioned-some numbers matter more than others. Here’s a number that I think matters to Jesus…
In the past 30 days, we have seen 121 people make decisions to put their trust in Jesus through our Kindle Outreach, Easter weekend, Disciple Now and an FCA event Chris Dillashaw led. Remember when Jesus described the heart of Father God by sharing the parable of the shepherd who left the 99 to seek out the 1? When he found the 1, he rejoiced and celebrated with all his neighbors. How much does Father God celebrate when 121 sheep are found?! There’s a huge celebration going on without a doubt! What’s more, in all but one outreach, CrossBridge had a follow up opportunity to help every single person learn to study the Bible and hear the spiritual voice of God, and other basics of discipleship.
You’re part of this and so am I! This is what CrossBridge is all about and it’s happening. Jesus is including us just like he promised to do when we align our priorities and time with his. Be encouraged!…and be expectant…God has even more he wants to share with us.
On the adventure with you,
Kirk
