Remember the Six P’s? See if you can name them without looking. Really, take a moment to try it. Here they are….(last chance to try to list them before I reveal them)…pain, power, pleasure, possessions, praise of people and…of course…pmoney.
If all I want to do in life is arrange the Six P’s in the order that gets me the life I want, then I don’t need to experience God for that. I don’t need to personally encounter the Holy Spirit if all I’m after is getting more of the P’s. The world has ample suggestions for achieving them.
But, if I want to live life to its fullest, as defined by the Creator of Life, then I’ve got to actually know the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in my life. There’s no other way. If I want to stand before God with confidence and absent of fear, as he reviews my life, I’ve got to have a personal relationship with him. I’ve got to know his voice and have his power working within me. His chief goal is for us to know him deeply and experientially…all of his work in the world is heading toward this end.
This is why we’re spending so much time on learning to Experience God. It’s what life is all about and it’s amazing how different life is when we make him the center of it all. If you’re hearing some inner voice saying you’re disqualified or this truth doesn’t apply to you, then recognize that voice as a lie. You are loved, invited and welcomed by Jesus into a deeper relationship. Keep saying yes. Keep praying Ephesians 1:17. Don’t give up. God has good things planned for you.
