What does Prayer have to do with my Marriage?

To have the highest quality of relationships, we must take time to connect with God because we simply do not have the emotional resources to relate well unless our hearts are energized and filled with peace by the Holy Spirit.

Effective prayer flows best from those who are in strong kingdom relationships—sharing deeply with one another, partnering together in kingdom activities, and relating to one another in humility, honor, and forgiveness in the grace of God.  A strong prayer life will lead to strong relationships.

It is all about love—loving God and people. People of prayer should be the most energized in love.  So, when we are praying and our hearts are energized in love from God, we relate and treat people differently.

“Husbands, you in turn must treat your wives with tenderness, viewing them as feminine partners who deserve to be honored, for they are co-heirs with you of the “divine grace of life,” so that nothing will hinder your prayers.”  1 Peter 3:7 TPT

The scripture makes it clear that the measure of a husband’s effectiveness in prayer is connected to the measure with which he honors his wife. This is a big deal to God!

So MEN,  let this be our wake up call!  God is calling us to step up and be the husbands who honor our wives.  Here’s 3 things you can do this week:

  1. Be the man who initiates prayer with your spouse.  Here’s an easy way to start: 30 Day Oneness Prayer Challenge.
  2. Be the man who initiates signing up for the Art of Marriage Conference to invest in your marriage and prayer lives.
  3. Come Sunday to learn more about how to have a dynamic prayer life! And bring someone with you.

Let’s go!!!!
