Intervarsity

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship is a vibrant campus ministry that establishes and advances witnessing communities of students and faculty on over 550 college campuses nation-wide. We minister to students and faculty through small group Bible studies, large gatherings on campus, leadership training, thoughtful discipleship and life-changing conferences and events.

Why the Campus?

Today’s university shapes tomorrow’s leaders. In the university, women and men are encouraged to pursue truth, often without regard for God, and to pursue personal goals, often without concern for a higher purpose.

InterVarsity longs to see education lead to a lifetime of Christian worship and service. We believe that when students and faculty are transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ, their campus is transformed, and ultimately society as a whole comes to more closely reflect the priorities of the kingdom of God. That is why we invest ourselves in the lives of students and faculty, wherever they are on their spiritual journey.

Jacob_Foor

Jacob Foor is currently serving in his fifth year on InterVarsity staff at Trinity University, a liberal arts campus of approximately 2500 students. The Trinity chapter serves approximately 100 students in 9 student-led Small Group Bible studies, one weekly worship service, and various outreaches to the campus and city. Communities on campus reflect a diverse body of believers and seekers, including members of fraternities and sororities, athletes, international students, and a diverse, multiethnic community. Jacob's main role on staff is to train and equip students to reach the campus with the Gospel, developing them into missionaries and leaders within a hostile campus culture and, eventually, the different contexts they are called to after college.

christina

Christina Foor is currently serving in her third year on InterVarsity staff at Northwest Vista College. Her mission field consists of approximately 15,000 students. The Vista chapter consists of 4 weekly small group studies, 1 worship/sermon night, and outreaches to the campus. At Northwest Vista, Christina is leading students through an apostolic "chapter planting" process, as they establish a student witness on a campus where there previously was none. She also disciples students weekly on what it means to seek God in college and see their campus as a mission field that Jesus cares deeply about. Student discipleship, evangelism/outreach training, and leadership development are particularly important to Christina's role on these campuses.

Patrick Farris

Patrick Farris is soon entering his fourth year on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He has developed leaders and spearheaded spiritual growth in unreached and under served communities from Trinity University, to Our Lady of the Lake University and The University of Texas at San Antonio. He has a passion to see students transformed by the good news of Jesus Christ and live out a commitment to Christ and his teachings in the everyday - in their communities, dorm rooms, neighborhoods, and cities. He wants to see them seek the kingdom and change the world! He is excited to be leading communities of college students all over the city as they invite people to experience Jesus on their campus and seek to live out the gospel!
