CrossBridge Community Church
What to Expect
God has a vast sum of thoughts about you—and he wants you to know what they are (Psalm 139:17–18).
Prophetic Prayer Ministry is a personal ministry where you can meet with a trained team of CrossBridge prayer facilitators, wait on the Lord together, and receive words that strengthen, encourage, and comfort you. These words are spoken by his people, in alignment with his Word and character (1 Corinthians 14:3). When we gather in his name, he promises his presence (Matthew 18:20). As we wait on him together with open hearts, we can trust the Holy Spirit to lead us into truth (John 16:13).

But is it safe?
We look to 1 Corinthians 14:3 and see that when God speaks through people to build up his church, it’s to strengthen, comfort, and encourage them. During the Prophetic Prayer Ministry time, the ministry recipient will meet with a team of three, wait on the Lord, and receive words that edify the individual, revealed by the Holy Spirit through God’s people in alignment with scripture. One way the team honors the ministry recipient is by avoiding any language that involves predictive prophecy (what job you will have, who you will marry, etc.), or correcting sin or behavior.
While God can meet us anytime in any way, he’s made a promise that when two or more of us gather in his name, he blesses us with his presence (Matt. 18:20).
When we wait on him together, we can confidently expect the Spirit to reveal himself. As our hearts are tender and open to him, we can trust that he will guide us into truth (John 16:13).
What is CrossBridge's Prophetic Prayer Ministry?
The Prophetic Prayer Ministry is a ministry that aims to strengthen, encourage and comfort the church for the sake of experiencing more joy and peace in Christ (1 Corinthians 14:3).
What is CrossBridge's biblical framework for prophecy?
In its most basic form, prophecy is the revelation and declaration of what is on Jesus’ heart and mind. After all, the Bible describes prophecy as “the testimony of Jesus” (Revelation 19:10). And according to scripture, one of the main things on Jesus’ mind is his people. God has a vast sum of thoughts about you (Psalm 139:17-18), and we believe that he wants you to know what those thoughts are!
Prophecy is one of the ways God communicates his heart toward us. As a result, when someone receives prophetic ministry, they result is always strengthening, encouraging, and comforting (1 Corinthians 14:3).
Who can prophesy?
While the ability to prophesy is a gift of the Spirit, we believe that gift is available to all believers (Acts 2:17, 1 Corinthians 14:5, 31). There are certainly varying degrees of gifting within the Body of Christ, but the main purpose of the gift remains the same - to build up the Church (1 Corinthians 12:7). Furthermore, true prophetic words will never contradict Scripture. After all, the written Word of God is the ultimate prophetic testimony of God’s heart!
