Loaves and Fishes

CrossBridge partners with Northside Church of Christ's Loaves and Fishes provides food, socks, and hygiene items while also spreading the love of Christ. We interact with the people we are serving to help them know that they are loved and that someone cares about them.

Loaves and Fishes serves the homeless near downtown San Antonio three days every week – Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Volunteers are welcome to help prepare food and/or distribute the food.  Families with children are welcome to participate in truck loading and preparation.

Sandwiches are prepared and the truck is loaded at Northside Church of Christ, 19818 Hwy 281 North. On Mondays, the food preparation is from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and the truck leaves at 4:30 p.m. to distribute the food and usually return around 6:30 p.m. On Thursdays and Saturdays, the food preparation is from 10 -11 a.m. and the truck leaves for distribution at 11 a.m. We usually return around 1 p.m.

If you would like to participate as an individual, just arrive at the church at the start time and day mentioned above. When you drive into the main drive, keep right toward "Deliveries," and you will see the Loaves and Fishes truck parked on the drive. Jesus instructed his followers to care for the poor, the hungry, the sick and those in prison saying, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40). This ministry seeks to serve Christ by serving others.
