The Gathering

The Gathering is a powerful, uplifting setting where friendships are formed, walks with the Lord are deepened, freedom from strongholds is received, and deep calls to deep in worship, prayer, and real, safe community. On Wednesday mornings, we provide FREE CHILDCARE and begin with worship and ministry time followed by your choice of meeting in a Study Group, Prayer Group, or Freedom Group.
If the morning time doesn't suit your schedule, we also offer both a Study Group and Freedom Group in the evening on Thursdays (childcare not provided).

The cost of all necessary books and study materials is included in the registration fee, which is payable via PayPal online (no account needed; online payment option not available for Freedom Groups) or via exact cash or check at the first meeting. You will receive your book and/or materials at that time. Please explore our groups below! Registration closes January 29th.

Wednesday Classes

Start Date: February 1st at CrossBridge Community Center (map)
Time: Weekly on Wednesdays, 9:30 - 11:30 am
FREE Childcare Provided

James, by Beth Moore (Starts Feb. 8, $16)

James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Topics in this study include joy, hardship, faith, wisdom, dangers of the tongue, humility, prayer, and others.

Restless, by Jennie Allen (Starts Feb. 8, $11)

In Restless, we’ll discover that we were designed to dream, and like the story of Joseph, our dreams may have greater purpose than we ever imagined. Through this study, you will be equipped to make sense of the seemingly random activities and relationships of life, redeem life's hurts and scars, and place your story in context with God's story.

Prayer Group (Starts Feb. 8, no charge)

The prayer group is a gathering of women with the expressed purpose of intercession for one another, The Gathering, and the Body of Christ at CrossBridge, in San Antonio, and throughout the world. It is a powerful time of seeking, praising, and petitioning the Lord together. All women are welcome. Please join us!

Freedom Groups 2 (Starts February 1st, $17)

This is a place for those who have received Freedom Prayer and are interested in pursuing and "walking out" their freedom long term in a safe, small group discipleship setting, combined with Freedom Prayer and Bible study.  While a part of The Gathering, these groups have a separate commitment and application process.

Thursday Classes

Start Date: February 2nd. See Group Description for Location details.
Time: Weekly on Thursdays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
No Childcare Provided.

Entrusted, by Beth Moore (Starts Feb. 9, $13)

God has entrusted believers with the great and mighty gift of the gospel, something too precious and life-giving to keep to ourselves. In Entrusted, Beth Moore will encourage you to guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy. The group will meet at the home of Pat Neeley: 27935 Copper Crest, San Antonio, 78260

Freedom Groups 2 (Starts February 2nd, $17)

This is a place for those who have received Freedom Prayer and are interested in pursuing and "walking out" their freedom long term in a safe, small group discipleship setting, combined with Freedom Prayer and Bible study. Freedom Groups 1 is a prerequisite for Freedom Groups 2. While a part of The Gathering community, these groups have a separate commitment and application process. Group meets, starting February 2nd, at CrossBridge Community Center (map).

Which Group is for Me?

What are Study Groups?

Our Study Groups meet together to track, discuss, share, and pray over material from the group's respective biblical study book. In the past, we have used material from Beth Moore, Christine Caine, Priscilla Shirer, Jennie Allen and more. Wednesday morning Study Groups divide their time between a Large Group and Small Group format. Large Group time is spent with the entire Study Group, watching the week's DVD segment and partaking in discussion, sharing, and prayer, while Small Groups are composed of approximately 4 - 5 women and are a place for deeper, more intimate levels of sharing, processing, accountability, and prayer. If there are any ladies with whom you would like to be placed in a Small Group, please note their name(s) on your registration form. Every effort will be made to honor requests, particularly mutual requests, though we cannot provide a guarantee.

What is the Prayer Group?

The Prayer Group is a gathering of women with the expressed purpose of intercession for: One another, The Gathering, the Body of Christ at CrossBridge, in San Antonio, and throughout the world.

It is a powerful time of seeking, praising and petitioning the Lord together. All women are welcome.

What are Freedom Groups?

Our Freedom Groups are a place for those who have received Freedom Prayer (or are scheduled for an upcoming Freedom Prayer appointment) and are interested in pursuing and "walking out" their freedom long term in a safe, small group discipleship setting, combined with Freedom Prayer and Bible study. Feeling stuck in your relationship with the Lord or struggling with issues such as trauma, marriage problems, sexual sin and bondage, fear, anxiety, depression, anger, body image, identity, abuse or general strongholds from the past are all examples of possible reasons to consider joining a Freedom Group.

Freedom Groups are led by seasoned members of the Freedom Prayer Team who want to assist those who would like more time and consistency in their pursuit of freedom in Christ. Each group is composed of a leader, a co-leader and four members, with all participants walking alongside one another in a shared commitment to honorable transparency, confidentiality and safety. You can expect to have opportunities to be ministered to and receive healing as well as to learn to minister to others in your small group.

Wednesday morning groups will meet weekly starting February 1st from 9:30 - 11:30 am at CrossBridge Community Center (map), with free childcare provided. We also have Thursday evening groups that will meet weekly beginning February 2nd from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at CrossBridge Community Center (map); no childcare is provided for the Thursday evening groups.

The cost for materials is $17 and is payable via exact cash or check at the first meeting. Because we have a limited number of spaces available, we encourage you to prayerfully seek the Lord on this opportunity and apply as soon as possible (details below). Groups are first come, first served. If our groups reach maximum capacity, we will connect you with our Freedom Prayer Ministry for further prayer and support and will place you on our list from the Spring 2017 semester of The Gathering and Freedom Groups.

To Apply:

  1. Carefully read the Freedom Groups Agreement and prayerfully consider your commitment to these meaningful guidelines. Each participant will sign a copy of the agreement during the first session.

  2. Complete the Freedom Groups Application as soon as possible (remember that we have limited spaces). The application will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
